INDEPENDENCE -- Applications are being accepted for the Independence Downtown Association's second annual Business Networking Fair on March 17.
The event, sponsored by Sterling Bank, will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at Green Villa Barn on Highway 51 north of Independence.
The purpose of the fair isn't sales, though some participants will be selling their goods. Instead, it's an opportunity for exposure for new businesses or those trying to create awareness.
Business owners from Monmouth, Dallas and the rest of Polk County are welcome to attend.
There are 30 booth spaces, measuring 10-feet-by-10-feet, for interested vendors. Cost is $50 for IDA members, and $60 for unaffiliated businesses.
There is also a $5 fee for an electrical hookup. Attendees will be given a passport, to be stamped by vendors, to be used in a drawing.
Reservations will be taken in order of receipt, and will close once all booth spots have been filled.
To receive an application, contact Julie Starnes at 503-838-1466 or Paul Hirt at email@example.com.
