pizza benefit on Tuesday

DALLAS -- Ugo's Pizza Parlor is hosting a fundraising night to benefit the Dallas Education Association on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

From 4 to 8:30 p.m. that day, Ugo's will contribute 50 percent of all proceeds from all sales except deliveries to the Dallas Education Fund to benefit Dallas public schools.

Ugo's is located at 967 Main St. in downtown Dallas.

Central School District seeks

budget committee members

INDEPENDENCE -- Central School District's Board of Directors is seeking candidates to serve on its budget committee.

The vacancies are for Zone 3 (that portion of the city of Monmouth east of Pacific Highway) and Zone 5 (that portion of the city of Monmouth west of Pacific Highway and south of Jackson Street).

Letters of interest may be submitted to Central School Board, Central School District 13J, 1610 Monmouth St., Independence, OR 97351.

Application deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 4:30 p.m. Appointments are scheduled to be made at the Monday, Feb. 7, board meeting.

Applications taken for budget

committee spots in Perrydale

PERRYDALE -- Applications are being accepted by the Perrydale School District for two positions on its budget committee.

Term of office is three years, starting in April 2011 and continuing through July 2014.

Applications are available at the school, 7445 Perrydale Road, Amity. Deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 28.

Local duo earns recognition

for work at Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Andrew K. Davis and Morgan Danielle Lonsford, both of Dallas, have qualified for inclusion on the president's honor roll for fall term 2010 at Washington State University.

Undergraduate students must earn a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher in at least nine graded hours in a single term at WSU or have a GPA of 3.50 based on at least 15 cumulative hours of graded work to be eligible.
