Perrydale selects temporary instructor

PERRYDALE -- Will Coltrin, Perrydale High School's temporary agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, will be introduced to Perrydale this week.

PERRYDALE -- Will Coltrin, Perrydale High School's temporary agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, will be introduced to Perrydale this week.

Perrydale High School Principal Sheila McCartney said Coltrin comes to Perrydale after serving as Creswell High School's FFA advisor and ag teacher.

"We are real excited to have him with us," McCartney said.

Funding for Creswell's agriculture science program was cut after the 2009-10 school year, eliminating his position, she said.

"He is very excited to be at Perrydale because of all the support the ag program has," McCartney said.

Coltrin will be working with retiring teacher Kirk Hutchinson this week, being introduced to the program and students, McCartney said.

Perrydale Superintendent Robin Stoutt said Coltrin will finish the school year in the temporary position while the school performs a full-scale search for a permanent teacher. She said Coltrin is welcome to apply for the permanent job.
