RICKREALL -- Eola Hills Wine Cellars in Rickreall is hosting its 15th annual "Bike Oregon Wine Country," a series of fully supported bicycle tours for riders of all abilities held every Sunday in August.
"Bike Oregon Wine Country" tours depart from Eola Hills Wine Cellars at 8 a.m. on Aug. 7, 14, 21 and 28.
On each ride, Eola Hills staff will lead 150 to 200 cyclists through the scenic countryside of Oregon's Eola Hills and Mid-Willamette Valley wine country. Two different routes (northern and southern) offer both short and long loops, which range between 45 to 70 miles. Riders stop at participating wineries (two to seven per route) to learn about and taste local wines. Support vehicles are provided to transport any wine purchases or to offer riders a lift when needed.
Routes very each weekend, but all riders finish back at Eola Hills Wine Cellars. Following each ride, cyclists enjoy a barbecue and wine.
The cost to participate in each ride is $65, with $20 off if riders sign up before Monday, June 6.
Part of the proceeds from wine purchases made by cyclists at Eola Hills benefit Oregon schools through Eola Hills Wine Cellars' Oregon Educational Assistance Fund.
