MONMOUTH -- Monmouth has hired Chuck Thurman as the new superintendent of the city's electric utility.
Thurman will take over as leader of Monmouth Power & Light on Oct. 3. He has more than 30 years experience in the power industry, City Manager Scott McClure said.
Thurman's previous stints include manager of electric operations and maintenance for the city of Banning, Calif., and working for the Snohomish County Power Utility District in Everett, Wash.
Thurman will fill the vacancy left by former MP&L superintendent Dave Wildman, who retired in July.
