Dressel, a junior swimmer for the Dallas swim team, re-broke two of her own school records at Saturday's Mid-Willamette Conference Swimming Championships in both the 200-yard individual medley (second, 2:18.10) and the 100 freestyle (third, 55.86). She also helped the 200 medley relay team break its own record with its third place finish. All three of those events that Dressel, in her first season with the team, competed in qualified for this weekend's state competition.
Wood, a senior pitcher for the WOU baseball team, led the Wolves to a big 10-1 win against the defending West Region champions, Sonoma State, Wednesday to earn his 10th straight victory dating back to last season. Wood threw eight innings and allowed just one unearned run and four hits to help WOU improve to 7-2 on the season. Wood was named Great Northwest Athletic Confernence co-Pitcher of the Week for his efforts.
