DALLAS -- Polk Community Connect, a one-day event designed to help people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless, is being held Wednesday (today) in Dallas.
The Polk County Commission for Children and Families and numerous organizations and churches are collaborating to provide free medical and dental care, pet care, bike repairs, employment assistance, clothing and haircuts. There will be opportunities to inquire about or sign up for Social Security and veterans benefits, as well as contacting other available service providers.
The Polk Community Connect will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Living Hope City Church, 450 SE Washington St., Dallas.
Free bus service to and from the event will be provided from Falls City, Independence, Monmouth, West Salem and Grand Ronde.
