Soil/Water Agency Sets Workshops

DALLAS -- Polk Soil and Water Conservation District has scheduled a series of winter workshops designed to help landowners maximize their resources.

DALLAS -- Polk Soil and Water Conservation District has scheduled a series of winter workshops designed to help landowners maximize their resources.

"Making the Most of What You've Got" is the title of a series of four workshops being offered beginning this week. The public is welcome to take part in any one class or all four.

This year's schedule includes:

* Water Quality -- Thursday, Jan. 26, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Polk County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 520 S. Pacific Highway (99W), Rickreall.

* Vineyard and Timber Management -- Tuesday, Jan. 31, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Dallas High School library, 1250 SE Holman Ave., Dallas.

* Mud, Manure and Nutrients -- Thursday, Feb. 2, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Polk County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 520 S. Pacific Highway (99W), Rickreall.

* Native and Invasive Plants -- Tuesday, Feb. 7, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Dallas High School library, 1250 SE Holman Ave., Dallas.
