Novotney appointed to WESD post
SALEM -- A former leader of the Dallas School District has been appointed the interim superintendent of the Willamette Education Service District (WESD).

The decision to appoint an interim superintendent follows the April 24 announcement by Superintendent Pat Evenson-Brady that she will retire June 30 due to family medical responsibilities.
Novotney has been at WESD since July 2004. In addition to his current role as deputy superintendent, Novotney has served WESD as acting superintendent, assistant superintendent and director of human resources. Prior to joining WESD, he served as superintendent of the Dallas School District.
