B&B is part of national campaign
INDEPENDENCE -- Independence House Bed & Breakfast lodged military veterans for free this past weekend as part of the national "B&B for Vets" campaign.
"A Better Way to Stay," a grass-roots group of innkeepers and B&B associations, coordinates the Veterans Day event annually for active and retired military personnel throughout the United States and Canada.
Cheryl Gaston, proprietor of Independence House, said she's participated in the campaign for the past two years. She announced that she would be offering her three rooms in September and was booked within eight hours, she said.
"I'll be doing this every year," she said.
