M-I Chamber names new board members

MONMOUTH/INDEPENDENCE -- The Monmouth-Independence Chamber of Commerce recently elected new members to its six-person board of directors.

They are Heidi Steggell of the Polk County Itemizer-Observer newspaper in Dallas, Natascha Cronin of Rogue Farms Micro Hopyard in Buena Vista, Molly McDermond of OSU Federal Credit Union in Monmouth and Lynn Myer of Carpet Hero in Monmouth.

Post office set to honor

DALLAS -- The Dallas Post Office will kick off the holiday season by hosting its eighth annual Customer Appreciation Day on Wednesday (today).

The event, which runs from 1 to 4 p.m., will include homemade cookies, punch, a coloring contest for youths ages 3 to 12, and door prizes.

The Dallas Post Office is located at 768 SW Church St.

Financial adviser to host open house

MONMOUTH -- Ben Meyer, a local financial adviser for the financial services firm Edward Jones, will host a holiday open house Dec. 5.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 193 E. Main St., Monmouth. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
