Marquis Spas makes staff changes

INDEPENDENCE -- Marquis Spas has appointed Bill Wells as its new director of national sales.

Jim Johnston, who has been the company's vice president for both sales and marketing, will transition to a strictly marketing role.

"Our products have evolved tremendously in the last couple of years," said Marquis' President John Schrenk. "At the same time, our business momentum has increased."

Wells will continue to serve as the account executive for Marquis dealers in California, Nevada and Arizona, and will now oversee all Marquis' domestic account executives. He's been with the company for 15 years.

Johnston has been with Independence-based Marquis for five years, and was hired as vice president before taking on a dual marketing/sales role in 2009.

Electric Peddler has new location

DALLAS -- Electric Peddler has moved once again.

The battery-assisted and traditional bike dealer moved to a small storefront on East Ellendale in May, but is already in need of more space.

Effective Monday, Electrical Peddler is located in the other half of the former hardware store on Main Street in downtown Dallas next to Paperback Paradise.

Owner Debbie McCleery said the move will offer more space for bikes, assessories and repairs. A seating area and book exchanges will be added, as well.

The new location is at 742 Main St., Dallas. Hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
