Meth bust recorded in Dallas

DALLAS -- Polk County Interagency Narcotics Team (POINT) detectives arrested two Dallas residents July 3 after the conclusion of a methamphetamine investigation.The investigation took place in the city of Dallas and resulted in the arrest of Jeff Rodgers, 20, and Nicole Wells, also 20.Detectives arrested Rodgers at about 3 p.m. near East Ellendale Avenue after he attempted to elude police, running through the lobby of a Burger King in the process.Detectives were able to take him into custody after a short confrontation and no one was hurt during the pursuit or arrest.Rodgers had a loaded handgun in his shorts pocket -- with the serial number scraped off -- and another loaded handgun in his backpack. Police also found about 10 grams of methamphetamine in his pockets and backpack, prescription pills not in his name, a small amount of marijuana, and more than $1,000 in cash.Rodgers has been charged with three counts of possession of methamphetamine, three counts of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession and delivery of Hydrocodone and unlawful altering of the identification number on a firearm.He is in custody at the Polk County Jail on $200,000 bail.Wells was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine as a result of the investigation.The Dallas Police Department assisted POINT detectives with this arrest.
