DALLAS -- Police are still searching for a burglary suspect who escaped Monday afternoon after being confronted by the owners of the Dallas home he was trying to rob.
At about 3 p.m. Monday, Polk County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 1200 block of Oak Villa Road to a burglary in progress. According to police, owners of the house returned home to find a white Ford pickup in their driveway with a woman standing outside and another suspect inside the home.
When confronted, the woman later identified as Kelsey Orourke, 20, of Albany attempted to escape in the pickup, but was stopped by police and arrested.
The other suspect, Shiloh McConnell, 33, jumped out of a window on the back side of the house carrying a pillowcase of stolen property. He fled on foot.
The homeowner's son chased and tackled him, but McConnell dropped the pillowcase and was able to get away.
Police set up a perimeter and searched for McConnell with dogs, but were unable to locate him.
Orourke is in custody at the Polk County Jail on burglary and theft charges. Additional charges are pending.
McConnell is reported to be wearing light tan or blue pants. Additional clothing items -- two shirts and a black hat -- were found near a pond on the victim's property.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the sheriff's office at 503-623-9251.
