DALLAS — The Dallas Aquatic Center will host an information meeting on its Junior Lifeguard program on Dec. 18. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., and an adult must attend with the interested Junior Lifeguard.
The Junior Lifeguard program is aimed at youths ages 11 to 14. Junior Lifeguards will learn what it takes to operate the pool and acquire the basic knowledge, attitude and skills needed to prepare for the American Red Cross lifeguarding class.
Interested youth will take a basic Junior Lifeguard class. Once completed, they may fill out an application and be interviewed. If chosen, they will sign up for and volunteer at least eight hours per month. Each time they do, they get a free day-use pass.
The cost for the winter class is $15. No dates have been determined.
