Benefit book sale slated at hospital West Valley Hospital (WVH) Volunteer Services is holding a “Books Are Fun” book fair Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fundraiser will be in the WVH conference room located immediately inside the hospital's front entrance, 525 SE Washington St., Dallas. Books, cookbooks, stationary, scrapbooking supplies, music, and gifts will be available for sale. Proceeds benefit the WVH Volunteer Services Scholarship Fund. Grief support group will start meeting The Health Care Committee of Evangelical Bible Church is hosting a six-week grief support group that begins meeting Tuesday. The six classes meet every Tuesday from April 1 through May 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Evangelical Bible Church, 1175 SE Howe St., Dallas. Topics include: Definition of grief and grief recovery, different approaches for resolving grief, different types of loss, journaling, unexpected loss, signs of healing, help through the holidays, and methods of coping. Artist exhibit on display at library The work of award-winning artist Patrick Simon is on display now through April 15 at the Dallas Public Library, 950 Main St. Simon is a fine print artist whose works are described by some as “absolutely amazing.” Each color on each print is a separate carved linoleum block. Simon has featured a print, a carved block and his carving tools in the display case along with 10 prints hanging on the library art wall.
