Locals receive degrees from GFU   NEWBERG — Two local students were among the more than 200 individuals who received diplomas at George Fox University's midyear commencement ceremony in December following the completion of the 2013 fall term. Stephen Crabb of Grand Ronde received a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies, while Nick Minahan of Dallas received a Bachelor of Arts in management and organizational leadership.   Perrydale grad earns recognition   OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Ashley Fults, a 2008 graduate of Perrydale High School, has been named to the dean's list for the 2013 fall semester at Oklahoma City University. Students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours during a semester to meet the dean's list requirements and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Fults, a senior, earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at the end of the fall semester.       Scholarships awarded to DHS grad   MANHATTAN, Kan. — Brett Lynn of Monmouth has been awarded two scholarships totaling more than $1,000 each from Kansas State University for the 2013-14 school year. Lynn, a 2012 graduate of Dallas High School, has received scholarship assistant from KSU's Agricultural Enhancement Fund as well as a KSU Transfer Honors Scholarship.   Monmouth woman tabbed for honor    McMINNVILLE — Maggie Harlow of Monmouth has qualified for the 2013 fall semester dean's list at Linfield College in McMinnville. Harlow and other students earned the honor by completing a minimum of 12 graded credits and ranking in the top 10 percent of their class.   Local qualifies for dean's list at UO   EUGENE — Margarita Carrillo, a senior biology major from Independence, was among the 1,465 students named to the University of Oregon's dean's list for fall term 2013. To qualify, a student must be an undergraduate, complete 15 credit hours for the term and have 12 credits graded with a GPA of 3.75 or better.   Dallas resident earns COCC honor   BEND — Billy Lane of Dallas has qualified for inclusion on the 2013 fall term dean's list at Central Oregon Community College in Bend. To qualify, students must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.60 or above.
