Aebi — 60th

Orval and Dottie Aebi of Dallas will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with their family and friends at an informal open house on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the home of Wayne and Jackie Howden, 3037 Bald Eagle Ave. NW in West Salem.

Orval N. Aebi and Dottie B. Hevner were married Nov. 18, 1954, at Salt Creek Baptist Church in Dallas. The Rev. Robert Penner performed the ceremony. The couple was attended by Carroll Aebi and Edith Aberholden.

The couple has lived in Dallas for all of their lives except for seven years, when they resided in Kansas City, Mo.

Orval retired in 1999 as a mechanic from Siletz Trucking. Dottie retired in 1999 as the front office receptionist at Dallas Retirement Center.

Orval enjoys music; he is an excellent trumpeter and has participated in many bands over the years. Orval was the choir director for several years at Salt Creek Baptist Church. Dottie is passionate about teaching the Bible and it showed in her many years of service at Salt Creek Baptist Church.

Their family includes Jackie and Wayne Howden of West Salem and the late Steven Aebi. The couple has two grandchildren.
