Bergman, a senior, had one of the best games in Western Oregon history against Portland State on Saturday. Bergman threw for 413 yards, the fifth most in program history, and three touchdowns, including a 48-yard touchdown pass to receiver Paul Revis. Bergman’s 61 attempts is the third most in school history. Bergman helped keep the Wolves, who had just 17 rushing yards, close during a 45-38 loss to the Vikings.
Riddell, a running back on the Panthers’ football team, had a huge game Friday night. Riddell rushed for 290 yards and five touchdowns, including scoring runs of two, eight, one and 66 yards, helping Central to a 46-34 victory over Bend. Riddell averaged 10.36 yards per carry during the contest and helped the Panthers combine for 435 rushing yards for a team average of 8.37 yards per carry.
