Fuller Named Western's Next President

MONMOUTH – Rex Fuller was officially named the next president for Western Oregon University by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education today during a conference call.

Fuller, of Eastern Washington University, will take the reins on July 1, a day after President Mark Weiss retires.

Fuller and his wife Susan are eager to make their home in the WOU community.

Fuller, 62, said he looks forward to finishing a long career at Western, noting that he didn’t intend to retire anytime soon.

“It’s an exciting time for us,” he said.

Fuller was chosen out of 45 applicants. Four of those were invited to Monmouth to visit with students, faculty and staff between April 1 and 8.
