Omlid changes mind on OIT

MONMOUTH — Tanner Omlid, a 2012 Central High graduate, will transfer from Army.

Omlid played two seasons with the Black Knights. He averaged 6.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game during his fre-shman campaign. Omlid was limited to five games during the 2014-15 season because of a knee injury.

Omlid signed a letter of intent to join Oregon Institute of Technology, but OIT Sports Information Director Michael Garrard said Omlid informed the school he will be attending a different school.

Omlid helped the Central Panthers’ basketball team to two state titles in 2010 and 2012. He was named OSAA’s 4A state player of the year in 2012.
