PERRYDALE — Perrydale’s boys basketball team won two of three games.

The Pirates defeated Livingstone Adventist 60-32 on Dec. 16 and Country Christian 62-46 on Saturday. Perrydale lost to Vernonia 78-37 on Monday evening.

Haylen Janesofsky had 19 points against Country Christian. Spencer Bibler added 13 points.

“This group is starting to understand what we need to do to be successful,” Pirates coach Mike Lowry said. “The ball movement (against Country) was much better and resulted in open shots that we converted.”

Janesofsky had 31 points against Livingstone Adventist.

“We still have some work to do on the defensive end of the court,” Lowry said. “We need to increase our intensity to reach our goals, but we are continuing to make steps in the right direction and are getting better every day.”

Perrydale (3-4 overall, 3-1 Casco League) played Monroe Tuesday after press time.

The Pirates play at Gaston Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
