Sultessa, a junior, had a banner day at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday. Sultessa finished fourth in the men’s 800-meter run final in 1 minute, 51.36 seconds. Sultessa earned All-American honors for his finish, becoming the third WOU athlete to earn NCAA Div. II All-American honors in the 800, joining Zeke Van Patten and Chris Olsen, who accomplished the feat in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
Riddell, a senior infielder, opened the 2015 baseball season in grand fashion. Riddell hit a home run as Central rolled to a 19-1 victory over Stayton on Monday night. Riddell also hit a triple during the victory to help spur the offense, which recorded 17 hits during the nonleague contest. Riddell will look to continue his strong opening game when the Panthers host Cascade Wednesday (today) at 3:30 p.m.
