FALLS CITY ROUNDUP: Falls City downs C.S. Lewis 3-0

FALLS CITY — Falls City’s volleyball team earned a 25-7, 25-14, 25-8 victory over C.S. Lewis on Thursday. Autumn Johnson scored 11 points in the second set, while Shilah Metzler added two aces.

“The girls played awesome,” Mountaineers coach Roxi Barnhart said. “Every girl got to play a game in the match and they all played their best. They continue to meet our goals of perseverance, hustle and communication.”

Falls City (4-6 overall, 4-5 Casco League) played at Jewell Tuesday after press time. The Mountaineers host Perrydale Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before playing at Willamette Valley Christian on Tuesday. Falls City entered the week in a tie for fourth place in the Casco League standings.

FOOTBALL EARNS FIRST VICTORY: The Falls City football squad picked up its first win of the season, defeating Mapleton 44-26 on Friday. The Mountaineers (1-4 overall, 1-0 Casco League) hosts Siletz Valley Friday at 7 p.m.
