Time to turn in your ballot

It's too late to mail your ballot

SALEM – Have you turned in your ballot yet? Time is running out, so you better hurry.

You have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to drop your ballot into an official ballot box or county clerk’s office. At this point, it’s too late to mail your ballot.

As of 8 a.m. today, voter turnout statewide was 29.3 percent, according to the Secretary of State’s Office. So far, 673,050 ballots have been turned in.

At that pace, votes cast could exceed one million for just the second time in a primary election, said Secretary of State Jeanne Atkins. The first time was in 2008.

Polk County’s return is at 24.6 percent, with 11,327 of 46,135 eligible voters turning in their ballots as of Monday.
