Grant Provides For Fair ‘Safety Zone’

Polk County Fair Board Chairwoman Anna Scharf accepts a grant from the Siletz Charitable Foundation.

RICKREALL — The Siletz Charitable Contribution Fund of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians of Oregon provided $4,015 to support the “Kids Safety Zone” at the 2017 Polk County Fair.

The money paid for identification kits for children, bicycle helmets, car seats and life jackets that were given out for free during the fair’s run, Aug. 10-12.
