Softball: Dallas headed to state championship game

DALLAS -- Dallas' softball team found itself in an early hole against a familiar foe. Silverton jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Dragons scored the final 10 runs of the game to earn a 10-2 win and advance to the state title game Saturday at the OSU Softball Complex.

Silverton scored one run in the first inning, but left the bases loaded. Silverton added a second run in the third inning.

The Dragons tied the game in the bottom of the third, thanks in part to an RBI single from Jordan Dippel. Dallas scored three runs in the fifth and five runs in the sixth to gain some breathing room.

Dallas will play Marist Catholic in the state championship game.
