PREP VOLLEYBALL: Pirates go 3-0

PERRYDALE — Perrydale’s volleyball team went 3-0 last week.

The Pirates defeated Falls City 25-10, 25-5, 25-11 on Aug. 29 before beating Triad 25-2, 25-5, 25-12 and North Clackamas Christian 25-13, 25-12, 25-14 on Thursday.

Stats were not available.

“Our wins were a result of a whole team effort,” coach Denise Dickey said. “Each player understands their role and they are playing it very well.”

With the team gelling, Dickey said she is pleased with what players are producing on the court.

“All the elements of the game are starting to come together,” Dickey said. “Serves and serve returns are two of the biggest strengths of the team. Our offense is looking better every match, and the girls are working really hard to bring their best to every practice and match.”

Perrydale played Livingstone Adventist Academy Tuesday after press time. The Pirates play at Jewell Thursday at 6 p.m. and at Damascus Christian Saturday at 1 p.m. Perrydale hosts Willamette Valley Christian Tuesday at 6 p.m.
