KLAMATH FALLS — Saturday, the Pirates found their footing after an opening push by the Triad Knights, but despite their efforts, lost their second playoff game, 67-55.
First quarter, the Pirates were down by nine points. Second quarter, they found a new energy and handled the Knights’ pressure better, playing good team defense and converting on the offensive end. At half-time, they were working on closing the gap, 21-18, and a few minutes into the third quarter, they found themselves tied with the Knights, 23 all.
The score fell again, 41-29, by the end of the third quarter and in the fourth quarter, the Pirates battled it out with the Knights but couldn’t seem to shake off their offensive side and stop them from scoring, resulting in a loss.
Cooper Butler led the game with 18 points and 8 rebounds; Kyler Thorson scored 12 and David Domes came up with 11 points.
