Dallas athletes redefine personal best

Boys and Girls Track and Field: May 2, the Dragons hosted the Silverton Foxes for a dual meet, with Dallas coming in first place for the boys team, at 318.5 points, and second place for the girls, with 171 points.

The afternoon started off with a personal record in the 100-meters dash for Malaki Connella, crossing the finish line at 11.02. In the girls 100, Callista Kiner nabbed second place and a PR, clocking in at 13.24, 0.15 seconds faster than last week.

Taking first place and a PR in the boys 800 was Trevor Cross, flying in 12 seconds before any of his opponents, at 2:01.76.

It was a one-two-three finish for the Dragons in the girls 100-meters hurdle, Carlie Sherman clinching first place and a PR at 18.21; Raelyn Martinelli behind her, setting a personal best at 18.41; and Jessica Deming pulling up in third, with 19.64.

In the boys pole vault, the boys saw a one-two finish, with Carson Overstreet launching 9-06 and Gabriel Applegate falling just a foot below him at 8-06 — sealing in a PR in the process.

Taylor Williamson took a first-place finish in the girls long jump, bounding across at 13-08.25.
