Found: A small black puppy with a pink collar. Is she yours?

Judy Guida found this sweet female puppy at her barn on Pedee Creek Road last week. It looks like a black lab-blue heeler mix and is about 10 weeks old. Give her a call at 503-838-0090 if she's yours.

The Polk County Saddle-ites had a successful New Year's ride Jan. 5 -- success being lots of people and no rain.

Around 28 riders came from all over the valley for the trail ride and a chili feed around a bonfire afterward. The Muleskinners club from Yamhill County joined them on their mules this year.

The club's next official ride will be the Poker Ride on June 22.

This year members of Pedee Church will be continuing to provide dinners to a homeless shelter in Salem on the last Monday night of each month. The next dinner will be on Jan. 28. Call the church at 503-838-4073 if you'd like to help or donate food or money. It's a very positive experience as the people are so appreciative.

The church also has a food pantry so that it can help those in need. Donations of nonperishable food are welcome, too. Just check expiration dates as they can't donate items that have expired.
