There were lots of Easter egg hunts around the neighborhood on Easter Sunday since we had ideal hunting weather.

Pete and LaVerne Bennett had their whole family over for dinner, then had a grand egg hunt for the kids, ages 6 to 18. Son Jim and his wife Julie of Salem brought their three kids, Hannah, Isaac and Reese, and son Rick and his wife Michelle and their three children came over, so Nash joined the hunt while grown sons Joshua and Ryan coached. Pete and LaVerne's daughter Lisa came from Newberg and LaVerne's brother, Donald Price of Salem, was also there.

Ted and Ethelene Osgood went to son Pete and Lucy's house in Dallas for an Easter brunch. Their son Stephen and his girlfriend Jessica Riffle came from Salem to be with them, bringing Stephen's girls, Bailee and Bridget, who live in Dallas. They had an Easter egg hunt with written clues provided by Lucy.

Mickey and Debbie Cochrane and their daughter, Paige, celebrated Easter at the Pedee Women's Club clubhouse with 45 of Mickey's relatives from all over the United States who had come for Mickey's step-grandmother Annabelle Forster's 91st birthday.

On March 30, Paul and I and daughters Suzanne Burbank and Lorraine Odell of Salem went to a memorial service in Corvallis for 43-year-old Kristi Trask Nelson, who died Feb. 2 in Cherry Hill, N.J., where she lived with her husband, Dennis, and son, Tyler.

Kristi was the daughter of the late Joe Trask and Dianne Trask of Siletz. Kristi had health problems since she was in high school, including two kidney transplants.
