Chelsea Pope receives the Junior First Citizen award from Chamber Manager Rich Wolcott while husband Roger Pope looks on.

Roger Pope couldn't have been prouder to present the award for Junior First Citizen, the individual younger than 35 years old who has shown wide-ranging, exceptional community service during the past year. Although Pope shared the presentation with chamber Manager Rich Wolcott, Pope had most of the pride in presenting his wife, Chelsea Pope, with the award.
Chelsea worked tirelessly on the annual Summerfest celebration and also on the first ever Johnnie Ray Days event organized to celebrate the life of Dallas' native son, Wolcott said.
Chelsea and Roger Pope run Tipps Copy Center on Washington street.
Chelsea tried on banking and marketing before coming to Dallas, Roger said, working for the largest marketing firm on the West Coast.
Having lived in Washington state, Chelsea fell in love with Dallas when she moved to town with Roger. "I came here two years ago and within weeks this city opened its arms for me," she said, wiping away tears.
"I knew this was the place we were going to live and raise our kids."
