DALLAS -- A widespread power outage left about 4,400 Pacific Power customers in the Dallas area without power starting Tuesday evening and lasting into early Wednesday morning.
Pacific Power spokeswoman Jan Mitchell said an insulator at a Dallas substation failed and the system shut itself down around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
A technician was onsite in about 15 minutes and discovered the problem, but no cause was determined for the failure.
Crews fixed the insulator and gradually began to bring customers back online just before 3 a.m. this morning.
Power was restored to all customers by about 4:30 a.m., Mitchell said.
