DALLAS -- Polk County Oregon State University Extension is offering a series of six classes on food preservation in Dallas this summer beginning July 20.
The classes offered are:
* July 20: "Jams and Jellies" -- 6:30 to 8 p.m., Evangelical Bible Church, 1175 Howe St.
* July 26: "Preserving Fruits" -- 6 to 8:30 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 320 SE Fir Villa Road.
* Aug. 24: "Quick Pickles" -- 6:30 to 8 p.m., Evangelical Bible Church, 1175 Howe St.
* Aug. 30: "Preserving Tomatoes and Salsa" -- 6 to 8:30 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 320 SE Fir Villa Road.
* Sept. 20: "Canning in a Pressure Canner" -- 6 to 8:30 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 320 SE Fir Villa Road.
* Sept. 21: "Fruit Pie Filling" -- 6:30 to 8 p.m., Evangelical Bible Church, 1175 Howe St.
Each class cost $10 per person. Preregistration and payment are required by 5 p.m. three business days before the class, and registration is limited to a maximum of 12 people per class.
