DALLAS -- Electricity to businesses and homes in the north side of Dallas was interrupted late Monday morning after a vehicle collided with a power pole, according to the Dallas Fire Department.
The incident happened around 10:15 a.m., when a car headed north on Orchard Drive hit another vehicle turning into a business park and sent it into a power pole near the Goodwill outlet, Dallas Fire Chief Bill Hahn said.
The impact caused one leg of a transformer to go out and cut power to a number of homes and many of businesses in the strip mall off Ellendale Avenue and Highway 223 -- including Safeway and its gas station -- for about an hour.
No injuries were reported, Hahn said.
