Projects will close two rural roads

POLK COUNTY -- Two Polk County projects during the next week will result in road closures to two rural streets.

Due to a culvert replacement taking place Wednesday and Thursday on Lucas Road near Falls City approximately 1.3 miles north of the park and past the last house on Lucas Road, the street will be closed to most traffic. Emergency vehicles will be allowed. The closure will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days.

On Aug. 15-16, due to a culvert replacement taking place on Mistletoe Road approximately 100 feet north of the McCaleb Road intersection, the road will be closed to all traffic -- including emergency vehicles.

Reader boards will be placed prior to the work starting and drivers should plan on using alternative routes past these projects.
