INDEPENDENCE -- Independence Police Department is seeking witnesses to an armed robbery that occurred at Figaro's Pizza, 1321 Monmouth St., on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. when the suspect, who had his face covered, walked into the business alone, brandished a pistol and demanded cash from employees. He then fled on foot. Nobody was injured, said Sgt. Rick Igou.
Igou declined to say how much money was taken or what the individual was wearing because of an investigation.
He did say officers were reviewing video from multiple businesses in the vicinity.
"There were also a lot of people out and about that night, so the chances of somebody seeing something is likely," said Det. Tino Banuelos. "Anybody who might have seen something suspicious in the area, we would love to hear from them."
