POLK COUNTY -- A woman accused of stealing $19,600 from an elderly family member was sentenced to three years of probation and 200 hours of community service on Thursday.

Mary McCloud, 41, of Moses Lake, Wash., pleaded guilty in Polk County Circuit Court to one count each of criminal mistreatment, identity theft, theft in the first degree and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The court ordered McCloud to pay $19,600 in restitution to the victim, a 96-year-old woman who had raised McCloud since childhood, according to court records. Both were living in Dallas when the incidents happened.

McCloud is also prohibited from working in any capacity with the elderly or vulnerable persons as part of her sentence, Polk County District Attorney Stan Butterfield said.
