Bar, grill to open in Monmouth in fall

MONMOUTH -- A new business will come to Main Street this fall. The Black Diamond Bar & Grill, 423 E. Main St., will serve Indian and American food and feature cocktails, beer and wine.

The establishment will also include a dance floor and lottery room. Its owners are Inderjit and Harender Dahliwal, who operate Monmouth Market & Deli.

There is no set day for Black Diamond to open, though the Dahliwals have applied for a liquor license with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. A public hearing to recommend or deny a license was scheduled before Monmouth City Council after press time.

The Black Diamond will occupy the former Boss's Burgers storefront; the Dahliwhals own the spot, but were not associated with that defunct business.
