DALLAS -- A 10-year-old girl from Dallas was found uninjured on Monday evening just a few hours after she had been reported missing, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
A guardian of the girl had contacted the sheriff's office at 7 p.m. about what was believed to be a runaway case, officials said. After a search around the home and nearby residential areas came up empty, authorities issued an alert through the "A Child is Missing" program.
A Polk search-and-rescue team was mobilized and located the girl at about 10:30 p.m. in the loft of a barn off West Ellendale Avenue.
