DALLAS -- The city of Dallas has announced its top three candidates for its city manager position.
The three finalists are:
* Ellen Barnes, of Molalla, the current city manager for the city of Molalla.
* Ronald Foggin, of Lehi, Utah. He was the former assistant city administrator of Lehi, Utah, until earlier this year.
* Aaron Palmquist of Bend. He was the former community manager of Crooked River Ranch in Terrebonne until August 2011.
Dallas residents will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at a "meet and greet" reception at the Dallas Civic Center on Nov. 7. The candidates are scheduled to speak briefly about themselves and why they are seeking the city manager position at the reception.
Residents are welcome to offer feedback on the candidates and comment cards will be provided. Light refreshments will be served.
The Dallas City Council and three panels consisting of community stakeholders will interview the candidates on Nov. 8.
The city council has been working with Nancy Boyer, the executive director of the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments, to recruit a pool of candidates and select finalists. The process began in July.
The city hopes to have its new city manager, who will replace Jerry Wyatt, in place by the first of the year.

Of note: At about 6 p.m., each candidate will be given a few minutes to introduce themselves and address the audience.
