Spring break youth activities scheduled

POLK COUNTY -- Looking for a fun and exciting adventure and learning opportunity for both boys and girls during spring break?

Come and be engaged with other youth and take home a fun project as part of the "STEP up 2 4-H" program, part of Polk County 4-H Youth Development.

Among the activities planned:

* Fun with Outdoors -- Grades K-6; Monday, March 25; 9 a.m. to noon. Working with plants, making kites, bugs in the forest.

* Fun with Arts -- Grades K-8; Tuesday, March 26, 9 a.m. to noon. Needle felting projects, making clay beads or magnets, tooling with leather.

* Fun with Sewing -- Grades 4-8; Wednesday, March 27, 1 to 3 p.m. Projects using the sewing machine (beginning sewing) and a non-machine project. Call 503-931-2578 for a list of things to bring for sewing.

All workshops are held at the Polk County-OSU Extension Office, 289 E. Ellendale Ave., Suite 301, Dallas. All youths are welcome to attend and one does not need to be enrolled in 4-H to participate.

Cost is $5 for materials. Class size is limited and you must call or email to register by Friday.
