DALLAS -- Cecilia Ward, the finance director for the city of Dallas, has been recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
The award, given to those responsible for preparing a government entity's comprehensive annual financial report, is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, according to a GFOA press release announcing Ward's recognition.
Award recipients are judged by an impartial panel to have met program standards and show a constructive "spirit of full disclosure."
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals.
