Fire chief finalist meet-and-greet slated
DALLAS -- The city of Dallas has narrowed the fire chief candidates to two and both candidates will be in town Wednesday (tonight) for a meet-and-greet open house.
Five candidates were interviewed by two panels for the position on Friday.
Patrick Wineman,a battalion chief and paramedic with Marion County Fire District No. 1 and Cornelius Fire Department is one of the finalists. The other candidate didn't want his name released until the open house.
Residents wanting to meet the two finalist for fire chief are welcome to open house at 7 p.m. at the Dallas Fire Station, 915 SE Shelton St.

Main Street downtown to be closed Friday
DALLAS -- Main Street in downtown Dallas will be closed to vehicle traffic between Mill and Washington streets on Friday.
With new side walks and curbs installed on the Main Street improvement project, crews will now shift to repaving the street. Old asphalt grinding will occur this week until Friday when resurfacing is scheduled.
The two blocks will be closed beginning in the early morning and cars will be directed through detours.
All businesses will remain open during the street closure and foot traffic will be unimpeded.
