Feral cat spay/neuter program offered

January 07, 2014

POLK COUNTY — The Willamette Humane Society Spay and Neuter clinic is offering free spay or neuter surgery for eligible feral and free-roaming cats in Polk and Marion counties.

The program covers any cat trapped by community members, first responders, or rescue organizations taking responsibility for a feral cat colony or feeding station.

Vaccines, flea and earmite treatment, and deworming are included in the feral cat surgery package. Free five-day use of a live-release trap is included with a $50 refundable deposit.

Those who decide to keep a "barn cat" that shows up on their property may spay and neuter for a $5 donation.

Willamette Humane Society serves Polk County.
