DALLAS -- The city of Dallas announced today (Wednesday) it has named Tom Simpson as its new police chief.
Simpson served as interim chief for four months after former chief John Teague left to take over the top job with the Keizer Police Department.
"Tom has served admirably with the Dallas Police Department for almost 27 years and has proven to be an excellent leader that truly cares for the citizens of Dallas," read the statement announcing Simpson's promotion.
