Perrydale players earn recognition
PERRYDALE -- Four members of the Perrydale girls basketball team have been named to the 2011-12 Casco League all-conference squad.
Senior guard Katie Hallock and junior guard Brooke Barnes each received all-league first-team honors, while junior wing Ashley Griffin and freshman guard Cheyenne Locke were selected to the all-conference second team.
Perrydale's Luke Lindell shared Casco League coach of the year honors with Mike Murphy of St. Paul.
Natalie Stone, a junior guard from St. Paul, was named player of the year.
Mounts, Pirates tabbed all-league
POLK COUNTY -- Five athletes from Polk County schools have been selected to the 2011-12 Casco League all-conference boys basketball team.
Leading the way locally was Steven Reynolds, a senior from Falls City, who was one of five players named to the all-league first team.
Perrydale sophomore Tell Cruickshank was selected to the all-league second team, while Perrydale junior Justin Cruickshank, Perrydale senior Corbin Reed and Falls City senior Devon Boone each received honorable mention.
Dawson Nofziger, a senior point guard from Country Christian of Molalla, was selected player of the year. Country Christian's Doug Nofziger was named coach of the year.
