The Perrydale and Falls City football teams both had players honored on the 2012 All-Special District squad.

POLK COUNTY -- Athletes from Perrydale and Falls City high schools were among those receiving honors on the 2012 Casco League (Special District 1) all-conference football team.
Perrydale players grabbed 18 total all-league honors. They were: senior Travis Chrisman (first-team center, first-team defensive lineman); senior Landon Pope (first-team guard); senior Justin Cruickshank (first-team quarterback, first-team linebacker, first-team punter); senior Josh Hiebenthal (first-team running back, first-team defensive back); junior Cody Halverson (first-team kicker, second-team running back, second-team defensive end); junior Zach Starr (second-team guard, second-team defensive lineman); senior Mick Hawes (second-team end, second-team linebacker); junior Jesus Mendez (second-team defensive back); and senior Jacob Dunn (honorable mention end).
Earning all-league honors from Falls City were senior Ethan McConnell (second-team running back, second-team defensive end) and sophomore Tristan Yeager (second-team end, honorable mention defensive back).
Perrydale's Chrisman and St. Paul's Cole Weisz shared defensive player of the year honors. Weisz also was named the league's offensive player of the year. Tony Smith of St. Paul was selected coach of the year.
