INDEPENDENCE -- Central High's Branden Cutsforth has been named to the 2012 Class 4A all-state football team.
Cutsforth, a senior tight end, was named to the 4A all-state honorable mention squad after recording 26 receptions for 341 yards and six touchdowns in eight games.
He was the only Polk County athlete selected to the Class 4A or 5A all-state football teams.
State champion Baker High swept the three major all-state honors, as senior quarterback Braden Phillips was named 4A offensive player of the year, senior linebacker Trent Taylor was selected 4A defensive player of the year and David Johnson was chosen 4A coach of the year.
The Class 4A and 5A all-state teams were selected via a vote of coaches from throughout the state and compiled by The Oregonian newspaper.
